SEVERE HAIL DAMAGE/WIND DAMAGE IN UPSTATE SC
Date of Storm:  September 4, 2015

Hail Storm Upsate - Reeves Roof Reeves Construction 02

Last night was a night of insane weather in the Upstate. Official weather reports provide support for claims of hailstones between one and one and a quarter inch in size, accompanied by 60 mile per hour winds in Travelers Rest, Greenville, Simpsonville, Gaffney, Jonesville, Pickens, Union, Mountville, Columbia (especially in the Newberry area), Kinards, Smyrna, the North Carolina Foothills, and Easley. We saw everything from house fires and power outages to downed trees and power lines. Union even has social media reports of baseball sized hail.

IMPORTANT: IF THERE IS A DOWNED POWER LINE IN YOUR YARD OR NEIGHBORHOOD, DO NOT TOUCH IT. Call your power company and your local police or fire department.

If your house or business was hit by this or any other hail and/or wind storm, YOU ARE 100% COVERED BY YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. Call Reeves at (864)574-1290 for a free roof inspection and we’ll ensure your roof is safe for you and your family. It is imperative to find and correct any damage caused by last night’s storm as quickly as possible, to prevent further damage from coming weather.

HURRICANE SEASON

We’re currently in the middle of hurricane season and long-term forecasts have predicted a particularly harsh and icy winter for the Upstate, which is hard on even the newest of roofs. DO NOT DELAY THIS WORK. Allowing your roof to endure more storms and ill weather while damaged only heightens the risk of interior issues and rotted sheathing; these can easily develop into even more serious problems for your home and are costly to fix. Last week, we in the Upstate were lucky to miss the storms associated with Hurricane Erika; please heed this storm’s warning to fully prepare you roof and home for the rest of hurricane season and the winter ahead.
