STORM CHASER ALERT
LOCAL CONTRACTORS ARE HERE
AFTER THE STORM TO HELP YOU

After a storm there are always a few things (roof, siding, gutters, windows, fascia, et cetera) that will need to be fixed and to make the repairs you will need to hire a roofing contractor. However, there will be people who try to rip you off by promising to do work but never showing up after you pay them. To ensure that you do not get taken advantage of, you will want to do a few things first.

After you have realized you need repairs done on your roof, you will begin looking for a roofer.

Hail Damage Roofing — Spartanburg
Moore — Roebuck — Woodruff

Get local references to ensure that you are not doing business with a storm chaser. Do they have local phone numbers? Local addresses? Do they have the proper licensing to be working in your neck-of-the-woods? By having local references you will be able to call or go see the work he has done in the past. Not only will a storm chaser not have local references but they may not have a legitimate contracting license. Ask to see their license and a copy of their insurance card. You will want to make sure the contractor has insurance so that if a worker gets hurt, you will not be held responsible for the injury.

All contractors can play the part, but you do not want to be the victim of a scam or scammed nor do you want to run into warranty issues only to find the roofing contractor you hired went back to tim buck two. You can also check with services like the BBB, Angies List, Yelp, Google, etc to see what (AND where) others are saying about the roofer.

Be on Guard! – Get References!

If you have other damage like siding, gutters, and windows – you’ll want to ensure that those trades get completed!

After you have checked out the contractors completely and thoroughly, you will need to request a contract. The contract is something in writing that is signed by the contractor and yourself agreeing to the terms of the job. The contract should state what work will be performed, the time frame of the job, the materials that will be used and most importantly how much the job will cost. Ask for a warranty to be included in the contract, as well as a copy of the contractor’s license and insurance card. Before signing the contract makes sure you agree to everything it states and sign the contract with the contractor. Do not sign anything he has not singed or you do not agree to.

When your house has been damaged by a storm, it does not have to be stressful to get it fixed. To ensure that you get it properly fixed check and double check the contractor you pick out before they begin work.

If you’ve had hail and wind from the previous storms in Spartanburg — Moore — Roebuck — Woodruff, please call a local roofing company like Reeves who has been here and will be here to back our warranty.
